Summer Food Program Served 80,000+ Meals to Cambridge Youth
The Cambridge Summer Food Program ensures that youth ages 18 and younger have access to free, nutritious meals while school is out of session. In 2024, the program served over 80,000 meals at parks, sports leagues, summer camps, and community events across the city. Beyond meals, the program offers recreational activities and literacy support, including weekly visits from the Cambridge Book Bike, making summer a time for both nourishment and enrichment.

[CANCELLED] Wellness for Older Adults: Tai Chi Paradigm - Intermediate (Main)
Join us in this twelve-week Tai Chi Paradigm practice, which focuses on the mind and body connection. Tai Chi is a fluid sequence of movements choreographed in a low impact routine. Sifu Mynor Diaz has been learning and teaching Tai Chi classes for over 20 years. This is an in-person event at the Main Library. Due to the popularity of Sifu Diaz's classes, we expect participants to attend all sessions and participation in this program will be decided by lottery. To enter the lottery, please register for the waitlist below. This waitlist will constitute the pool from which 15 names will be drawn randomly. Registration will open Wednesday, February 5 at 9AM and close Wednesday, February 19 at 5PM. Participants selected will be notified on Saturday, February 22. City of Cambridge will Remain in Phase IV, Step 1 of the Commonwealth’s Reopening Plan
The City of Cambridge announced today that it will remain at Phase IV, Step 1 of the Commonwealth’s Reopening Plan and will not advance past Phase IV, Step 1 on May 10, 2021. The City reminds residents and visitors that masks may only be removed outside when 6 foot social distancing is possible.

Cambridge Public Health Department COVID-19 Vaccine Update for January 25, 2021
Based on the information the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has shared, Phase Two will begin on February 1st and only those 75 years and older (and those who qualify as part of Phase One) will be able to register for a vaccination appointment using the map on the state’s website. At this point, we do not have indications of when other groups in Phase Two will be able to register for and receive the vaccine. When the state shares additional information, we will post it on our dedicated vaccine information page at www.cambridgema.gov/vaccine.
