Cambridge Submits Interim Action Plan for MBTA Communities
The City of Cambridge has submitted an Interim Action Plan to the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) as required by a new state law requiring communities served by the MBTA to have zoning districts that allow muti-family housing to be built as-of-right.
Broadband Subsidies for Qualified Residents Begin May 12
The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that provides a temporary discount on monthly broadband bills for residents with low incomes or those who lost income during the pandemic. As of May 12, 2021, eligible households will be able to enroll in the program to receive a monthly discount of $50 off the cost of broadband service from an approved provider.
Free COVID-19 Treatments Are Available in Massachusetts
Vaccines and boosters are the best way to protect against COVID-19. However, even some people who are fully vaccinated may get COVID. People who test positive - whether vaccinated or not - and who are at high risk for serious illness now have access to free treatments that can help prevent severe disease.
