Join the Cities of Cambridge and Somerville, and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, for a public meeting on the recommended combined sewer overflow control plan for Alewife Brook, Upper Mystic River, and Charles River.
Specialized Stretch Energy Code
Cambridge adopted the Specialized Stretch Energy Code in January 2023, which requires builders, for both new construction and major renovations, to meet high performance standards, prepare buildings for all-electric heating and hot water systems, and make parking facilities ready for electric vehicle charging equipment.
Brookline Street
Brookline Street reconstruction project, completed Fall 2010, included sidewalk replacement, repaving, and replacement of the water and sewer lines. Design improvements included traffic calming, safer pedestrian crossings, bicycle lanes and the addition of many more street trees.

How to Stay Safe During Extreme Heat
Hot weather and extreme heat can cause serious illness and can even be life-threatening. Heat-related illnesses, like heat stroke and dehydration, can occur.
During heat waves, Cambridge Police Officers will distribute cold bottles of water to residents in need while they are out on patrol.
