Please join the Library in celebrating the 250th anniversary of the publication of Phillis Wheatley's poems with a poetry reading and workshop. Organized by the poet Artress Bethany White—the co-editor of Wheatley at 250: Black Women Poets Re-imagine the Verse of Phillis Wheatley Peters—this event will open with an African drumming prelude, followed by a presentation on Wheatley's life and work as well as a reading by contemporary poets inspired by Wheatley and collected in Wheatley at 250, and concluding with a short writing exercise designed to engage the audience with Wheatley's poems.

The Cambridge Police Department Traffic Unit is looking to identify the pictured individual with regard to an on-going investigation into a hit & run crash on Vassar St. that caused serious injuries to a 9-year-old. At the time of the incident, the male was operating an E-Scooter while wearing a teal t-shirt and black shorts. He is a white male wearing his hair in a man bun style and appears to have a face tattoo. Have Information? Experience the vibrant rhythms of Haitian Folklore in a class led by JAE company dancer Velouse Joseph. Class is accessible to all levels and welcomes kids of all ages and their caregivers. Class includes a guided warm-up followed by traditional Haitian dances. You'll move to the sounds of prerecorded Haitian rhythms as you connect to culture, community, and the joy of movement.
