Join Central Square's new Horror Book Club. We're exploring horror in all forms -- classic horror, queer horror, ghost stories, and more! For our July meeting, we're reading Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer. Copies are available for pickup at the branch. For this title, we're following up our discussion with a special film screening of the 2018 film adaptation, Annihilation, starring Natalie Portman. Zahirah Nur Truth of ZNT Arts will facilitate a workshop that honors creative expression as a tool to empower young people to celebrate joy! Spring is the time to set new intentions. We will use text art inspired by artists that work in collage, stencil and 3D art. Come make your very own unique colorful vibrant Spring posters. We will be using flowers, fabric and more.

Please join us for a discussion related to vision changes in older adults. Presented by the Carroll Center for the Blind, the program will feature a Low Vision Therapist to discuss common age-related vision conditions and early detection as well as a Technology Specialist who will demonstrate tools for using your phone with greater ease along with other assistive devices. Registration is requested, but not required.

The City of Cambridge today announced the cancellation of the Annual City Dance Party that was scheduled to be held on June 26 in front of Cambridge City Hall, and announced that all City-sponsored community events, athletic events, events permitted for the use of City parks or other City-sponsored public gatherings will be cancelled through July 1, 2020 or postponed to a later date.

Danehy Park is a popular, 50-acre park in north Cambridge. For more than 30 years, residents and visitors have enjoyed the park’s athletic fields, walking paths, playgrounds, public art, dog park, and community events. We want Danehy Park to continue being a place that everyone can enjoy. We are starting a community process to gather ideas, information, and feedback about how to make Danehy even better!
