The City Council has proposed adopting a new City Charter, which is the law that prescribes the structure of the Cambridge government. The proposed new City Charter shall be submitted to the voters of the City of Cambridge for acceptance at the next biennial election, which will be held on November 4, 2025.

The Affordable Housing Trust's August 2025 meeting is cancelled. The next CAHT meeting is currently scheduled for September 25th, 2025 at 4 p.m (subject to change). The Cambridge Office of Early Childhood (OEC) works to develop an easily accessed, aligned and coherent system of affordable high-quality education and care that begins with prenatal care and extends through third grade in Cambridge. OEC also oversees the Cambridge Preschool Program, which provides access to free preschool for all Cambridge 4-year-olds.
