As a group we'll connect with and explore the neighborhood mindfully with a gentle walk and draw on contemplative practices. What to bring: layered clothing, comfortable shoes and water. In this interactive workshop, we'll explore the story of Juneteenth, the oldest commemoration of the outlawing of slavery in the United States. Through stories, craft-making, and a Jubilee teach-in, we'll honor the joy and radical resistance of Black Americans then and now. This program can accommodate 45 people and is recommended for youth ages 6 and up and their caregivers.

In this presentation, you will learn about your rights as a tenant and Cambridge resources that support renters. We will be joined by attorneys from Cambridge and Somerville Legal Services and the City of Cambridge’s Office of the Housing Liaison.

Leaves are falling and fall is here! Let’s learn about the trees in the park through stories and leaf rubbings. Recommended for children ages 5-8 and their caregivers.

Mass Audubon will lead an exploration around the library in search of plants and animals, while using scientific tools like binoculars and magnifying lenses to get a closer look. We'll record what we find in our nature journals and play nature games. All materials will be provided. No registration required. This program is recommended for children 4-8 and their caregivers. Join our friends from New England Botanic Garden to create an upcycled press for preserving leaves and petals. We will also learn about the lifecycle changes from flower to fruit, and dissect a tulip. Recommended for age 7 and up with a caregiver.
