Collaborate on a biodiversity banner to celebrate Moth Week with a sewing circle on July 11 and July 18. Wildlife Arts invites the community to hand sew blocks for a multi-moth fabric banner! We'll teach beginning sewers, and children old enough to handle a needle may work on caterpillar blocks (recommended for age 10 and up). You'll learn about moth biodiversity in Massachusetts and help publicize the humble and little-known world of moths. The banner will be displayed at the Cambridge Moth Ball on July 22 at Fresh Pond Reservation and will be available in the Wildlife Arts banner lending library when complete. All materials will be provided. Registration is suggested. You may attend one or both sessions. The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability. We invite children and their grown-ups to join us for a magical walk through nature. We will look for signs of fairies and build fairy houses. We will meet at Gerard Bergin Park (Haskell & Pemberton Streets), a short walk from the O'Neill Branch. In case of bad weather, this program will happen indoors at the O'Neill Branch. This program is presented as a part of the CPL Nature Club.

Choose from a selection of images and transform it into a print by carving the image into easy cut linoleum. You will love the satisfying process of carving away the linoleum to reveal the design. Once the carving is complete, the block will be inked and printed. Each person will take home a carved block for future use, and a collection of their own hand printed pieces!
