The Baker-Polito Administration outlined plans to vaccinate the Commonwealth’s first responders, the next priority group within Phase One of the Commonwealth’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan.

The Baker-Polito Administration announced two new mass vaccination sites will open in Natick and Dartmouth. On Thursday, 74,000 appointments will be posted online for mass vaccination sites and pharmacies at locations statewide. The administration also announced that individuals who accompany someone age 75 or older to get a vaccine at a mass vaccination site may also schedule and receive their own vaccination on the same day.

While we cannot predict when the state of emergency will be declared over by the Governor, the City of Cambridge will work with affected businesses to find a way to support and assist them in identifying mechanisms to legally maintain their outdoor area and keep it operational through the end of the calendar year.

Under this Emergency Order, the City will only allow construction activity that complies with the provisions of the Order, the MA Sector Specific Workplace Safety Standards for Construction Sites, the MA Safety Standards, and the MA COVID-19 Checklist issued on May 18, 2020. Additionally, the City has established a new four-phased approach for resuming existing construction permits will begin on May 25, 2020, and approving of applications for new building permits will tentatively begin on June 29, 2020.

The Cambridge Council on Aging offers a Veterans and Friends Support Group. Open to Cambridge veterans ages 60 and older, the support group meets monthly at the Cambridge Senior Center. The Housing Department is updating the program. Current homeowners can choose to sign an amendment (update) to their Affordable Housing Restriction.

The goal of MSYEP is to serve as a young person's first job experience and exposure to the world of work. The program is open to Cambridge residents ages 14 through the summer after completing high school. Teens are placed in public sector and non-profit jobs throughout Cambridge and in surrounding communities for six weeks during the summer.
