Want an easier way to keep track of appointments, events, and reminders? Come learn Google Calendar, a free scheduling tool that works on your phone, tablet, or computer. We'll cover the basics: creating and editing events, setting reminders, sharing calendars with family or coworkers, and syncing across your devices. No experience needed, just bring your questions (and a Google account if you have one). This class is a part of the AARP curriculum. Join us for a special matinée screening of Lilo & Stitch as part of the MA Space Week 2025 Space Film Festival! This kid-friendly event will kick off with a 15-minute pre-screening presentation by astronomer and SETI expert Simon Steel, exploring the search for life beyond Earth.

Are you an intermediate or advanced sewer? This class will cover serger machine setup, threading a serger, and identifying correct tension settings with different types of fabric. You will learn about ways to use our Elna Extend 864 Air serger to take your sewing skills to the next level by producing special finishing styles, hemming, trimming and assembling your garments. Up to two patrons can register for this class. This class is designed for patrons who have prior experience using a sewing machine to complete many types of fiber arts projects. If you are new to machine sewing, we recommend you take our Sewing 101 workshop before using our serger. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.

Challenge your family or meet new friends over board games in the Community Room at Valente. The library will supply games and snacks. No registration is required for this drop-in event. Join us for a special Park Sounds in celebration of Juneteenth with saxophonist Tim Hall, an award-winning musician, performance poet, and producer from Detroit, MI, now based in Boston. His poetry draws inspiration from his lived experiences - charting the nuances of blackness, masculinity, and the beauties of life. Tim's music is used to underscore his vivid storytelling with warm neo soul, jazz, and hip hop influences. PARK SOUNDS 2026 brings free outdoor musical performances featuring local artists to the front lawn of the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch. These events are all-ages.
