It’s an act of rebellion to use your body in a public space, articulating power and transcending awkwardness or beauty. Two community workshops, led by Professor of Dance Christine Bennett, will involve movement as a path toward understanding and resiliency in our own bodies and community spaces. The workshops are appropriate for all movers ages 18 and up. Register for one or both workshops.

This week's selection: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, selected poems Reading Interests: We concentrate on Great Books in the following areas: a long novel over the summer, two sections of poetry and short stories, a book of the Bible, a Shakespeare play, an ancient and modern drama, a work of science, a smaller work of fiction, an even smaller work of fiction, and a rotating mix of politics, philosophy, and religion. Authors read in the past five years include Dickens, Keats and Yeats, O'Connor and Munro, Ecclesiastes, Sophocles and August Wilson, Darwin, Austen, Duras, The Federalist Papers, and Arendt. How to get the print book: Copies of the reading are set aside at the Main Library. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during current service hours and a staff member can help you get a copy. Join the Cambridge Public Library in welcoming the Superintendent of Cambridge Public Schools, Dave Murphy, for a discussion of immigrant students in today's political climate. Panelists will also include Jessica Lander, author of Making Americans, whose book provides historical and current context for the discussion, as well as Vice Mayor Burhan Azeem and Richard Harding, a School Committee member.

Stop by before the holiday weekend to pick up a tiny art kit. Paint your own miniature masterpiece with a watercolor set, wooden easel and two-inch canvas. If you're playing Summer Bingo, use this kit to complete the square: create something inspired by a book. For all ages, while supplies last.
