We invite children and their caregivers to a 30-minute session of songs and stories in Mandarin Chinese with Mina (Yating) Fan, a local mother and educator. This fun and interactive session brings families together to enjoy lively songs and engaging stories in a warm, welcoming environment. This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly. Cambridge Main Library celebrates pride with the Grumpytime Club! The Grumpytime Club’s original music for children and their caregivers is creative, positive, thoughtful, beautifully crafted, and catchy as cake! Led by award-winning singer songwriter Carrie Ferguson, the Grumpytime Club creates live shows that are often jubilant sing-along dance parties, highlighting themes of inclusivity, social justice, Earth stewardship and LGBTQ youth/family JOY! Party in the Curious George Room with families of all ages, and join CPL in showing your pride!

Celebrate Jasmine Warga's new book, The Unlikely Tale of Chase and Finnegan, about an unlikely friendship between a cheetah and a rescue dog who are paired as an animal ambassador team at a zoo — at this special event with Mass Audubon! Meet local wildlife ambassadors and discover the amazing adaptations that help them survive in the wild. Ask questions and learn what you can do to protect the wildlife of Cambridge. Recommended for children ages 6 and up. This event is part of a special series promoting our 2026 Curious George Lecture (CGL) with Jasmine Warga, award-winning author of A Rover's Story, Other Words for Home, and many other popular children's books. Are you or a loved one experiencing changes in vision? Isabel Rosario, Outreach Specialist, will discuss how to recognize the signs of vision loss, questions to ask your eye doctor, tips on staying independent and safe, and local resources and support. Registration is requested, but not required.

Celebrate the coming Lunar New Year and bring some light to the dark winter by learning the art of tissue paper collage! Make a paper lantern or sun catcher to bring home. All materials are provided. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Registration is not required for this event.

Continue building your machine-sewing skills AND create bespoke sewn crafts! In this session, you can choose from a menu of beginner projects including: earbud cases and zlippers. This session is led by fiber artist and designer Lenni Armstrong. Registration is required and participants must have completed Sewing 101 in The Hive before registering.

Gund Kwok is the first all Asian and all female lion dance troupe in the country. They will present an interactive story about the origins and significance of the lion dance, followed by a lion dance performance that will include the traditional "eating of the greens" and the unrolling of good luck banners. After the performance, the audience will be invited to try on the lion heads and take photos. Recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers. Bring the whole family for a unforgettable experience!

It’s fun, it’s easy... it’s exercise? Yes! Come try your hand at line dancing! This class is a great way to get low-impact exercise while dancing to (mostly) Country Western music. It requires no experience, no equipment, and no partner; just bring your two left feet. We’ll start from the very beginning, learning easy dances. Note that registration is for all four sessions: 4/7, 4/14, 4/21, and 4/28.
