Sustaining Community: A Climate Change Book Group (Main)
The climate is changing, and we're all here on the planet together. Join us for a monthly community gathering and discussion of a variety of books about climate change. We will share thoughts, resources, and occasionally host special guests in a welcoming small-group environment. For our March meeting, we will discuss Human Nature: nine ways to feel about our changing planet by Kate Marvel (this book was originally our January read, but the discussion was cancelled due to weather). Copies of the print book are available at the Main Library Q&A Desk. The e-book and e-audiobook are available immediately on the Hoopla app. Registration is required. Summer Reading: ¡Música! with Mariana Iranzi (Valente)
Join us for a bilingual family concert in English and Spanish. Singing, dancing and tons of fun guaranteed! Recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers. Learn how to make your smartphone (iPhone or Android) easier to use. Learn how to use different accessibility settings for vision, hearing and interacting with your smartphone. This class will be delivered by a DOORS program instructor. Kidney Disease Info Session & Screening (Central Square)
Join us at the Central Square Branch Library for an informational session about kidney disease followed by a free kidney-focused screening and physician consultation. This program is in partnership with the Harvard Kidney Disease Screening and Awareness Program (KDSAP) whose mission is to provide kidney focused health screenings and health education to underserved communities. Learn to Sew! A Workshop for Teens, Taught by Teens (Main)
Don’t think you have what it takes to use a sewing machine? Think again! In this FREE workshop, teens from the Cambridge Community Art Center will teach you how to properly thread a machine, sew a straight stitch, hem and unfinished edge, and secure your stitches. Practice by sewing colorful shapes onto small flags. Following the workshop, the flags will be made into a banner and displayed at the Library. No experience necessary. Housing Know Your Rights Workshop (Main/Virtual)
Come and learn about your rights as a tenant along with Cambridge resources that support renters! In this workshop, you will hear from attorneys from Cambridge and Somerville Legal Services and the City of Cambridge's Office of the Housing Liaison. This a hybrid event. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants 1 hour before the event. We will be providing interpretation in Spanish and Haitian Creole on location during the event. The City of Cambridge can provide you with an interpreter for free. Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Dr. Stephen Greenblatt—Cogan University Professor of the Humanities at Harvard University, general editor of The Norton Anthology of English Literature, and the author of fourteen books including The Swerve, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award—for a discussion of his new book Dark Renaissance: The Dangerous Times and Fatal Genius of Shakespeare's Greatest Rival. He will be joined in conversation by Neel Mukherjee—author of four novels, including The Lives of Others, which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Registration is required.

Remembering Together: Grief Support Group (Central Square)
The "Remembering Together" support group is for patrons who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Facilitated by the library social worker, this online group offers a safe and confidential online space for peers to come together, share common experiences and heal in community.
