Propagate and Populate: Plant Swap (Central Square)
Calling all plant lovers! Add some green into your home! Bring your own plants to share propagules with others or come to pot a new plant baby for your home collection.
We'll have a small collection of house plant propagules, along with soil and plastic planting containers. Attendees are welcome to bring their own pots as well.
Choosing Kindness: Wonder, the Movie (Main)
Please join the Cambridge Public Library and the American Repertory Theater for an afternoon of Wonder! To celebrate the much-anticipated new A.R.T. musical "Wonder," we'll be watching the 2017 movie adaptation of R.J. Palacio's book. Enjoy the movie on the big screen in our Lecture Hall, then browse our display of related books. All attendees will have the opportunity to enter a drawing for four free tickets to a performance of "Wonder" at the A.R.T.
Kids' Books for Everyone Book Swap (O'Neill)
Bring a kids' book or two to swap and go home with a new book for yourself! People of all ages who enjoy kids' books are welcome.
Please do not bring more than one or two books. You are welcome to take home a book even if you did not bring one. Contributions will not be accepted in advance of the event.
Inventing Samanta (Main)
Join Cambridge Camping and the Cambridge Community Center for our first 2026 Village Building Series event: a live theater performance of Inventing Samanta (Our Ray of Hope) at the Cambridge Public Library. The play is performed by actors ages 19-26, following a group of high school students and exploring why - despite age, identity, or background - anyone can be an inventor. Presented by Central Square Theater's Youth Underground, with funding from Cambridge STEAM. This event is cosponsored by the Cambridge Public Library.
Winter Heating Bill Assistance Event
The Cambirdge Home Energy Assistance (HEAP Program helps income-eligible Cambridge and Somerville residents pay their winter heating bills. HEAP accepts applications through April 30.
Small Business Enhancement Program
Information about the City of Cambridge's Small Business Enhancement Program. The program provides equipment and marketing assistance to retailers, restaurants, home-based business through grants.
Library Art Displays
The library is home to a permanent exhibition by Ellen Driscoll, photographs by Diane Asséo Griliches, and murals by Caleb Neelon and Silvia López Chavez.
Baker-Polito Administration Initiates Transition to First Phase of Four-Phase Approach
The Baker-Polito Administration released Reopening Massachusetts, the Reopening Advisory Board’s report, which details a four-phased strategy to responsibly reopen businesses and activities while continuing to fight COVID-19. The Administration also released a new “Safer At Home” Advisory, which instructs residents to stay at home unless engaging with newly opened activities, as a way to continue limiting the spread of COVID-19.
