Let’s make our schools, libraries, and public buildings more accessible for all by adding automatic door openers to entries that are wheelchair accessible but lack this feature. The City will work with the Disabilities Commission to prioritize locations.

Create 3-5 shaded seating areas in busy areas most in need of shade and seating. Each area will be 300 to 500 square feet and include shade canopies and inviting places to sit: bench swings, chairs, tables, and communal seating.

The pedestrian realm includes sidewalks, open space, courtyards, and walkways--mostly public space, but private spaces as well.

This project will renovated the Cambridge Common and build a multi-use path alongside Flagstaff Park on Mass. Avenue.

Through the study, the City will work with the community and a stakeholder group to identify how to provide safe and comfortable north/south travel connections for people of all ages and abilities, regardless of their mode of transportation, between Binney Street and Cambridge Street.
