COVID19 Emergency and Recovery Grants for Cambridge Nonprofit Organizations
The intent of this funding is to provide COVID-19 related assistance and critical supports to the vulnerable and at-risk Cambridge families and individuals served by Cambridge nonprofit organizations. The nonprofits are a critical resource to support vulnerable residents and this is especially true during the coronavirus pandemic.
City of Cambridge Extends Restrictions on Public Events and Announces Temporary Suspension of In-Person Appointments.
The City of Cambridge is extending the current prohibition on City-sponsored community events, events permitted for the use of City parks, or other City-sponsored public gatherings through March 31, 2021. Additionally, to ensure the safety of the public and City staff, in-person appointments at City buildings, including contactless holds pick-up at the Cambridge Public Library, will be suspended from Saturday, January 2, 2021, through Monday, January 18, 2021.
City of Cambridge Cancels City-Sponsored Halloween Events. Permits for Community-Sponsored Events in Public Places will not be Issued
The City of Cambridge is canceling all City-sponsored Halloween events and will not be issuing street closure, block party, or park permits this year for community events in order to help prevent large groups from congregating in close proximity.

Recent Mental Health Responses and Coordinated Approaches
Four notable public safety responses have occurred since Friday. Each response involved residents who were struggling with mental health issues. Three of the four involved residents were armed. Each situation was resolved peacefully without any injuries to anyone involved and the residents were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment.
City of Cambridge Halloween Events and Important Safety Tips
The Halloween season offers a variety of fun events for children, youth and families across the City of Cambridge. Various city departments will be sponsoring Halloween events in Cambridge. For general Halloween safety, all kids are reminded to wear reflective colors, carry a flashlight when it gets dark, and use extra caution crossing streets. Young children should be accompanied by an adult or a responsible older kid. Additionally, Cambridge Police Officers will be out in various areas of the city engaging with people in the community who are out trick or treating.
