Visit the Main Library Q&A Desk at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. Come to the Library to create something special! Use your own supplies or try out our equipment! You can use our 1-inch button maker, 2.5 inch button maker, 3-D Doodle pens, or Janome sewing machines. The Library will provide basic supplies. *This month you are invited to join in a community sewing circle to help create a Moth Banner. Learn more here: https://cambridgepl.libcal.com/event/16984382 This drop-in program is for people who feel comfortable using these machines on their own. The Library will not provide instruction. Anyone wishing to use the sewing machines must have completed a Sewing 101 training through the Library. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Liane Brandon’s photographs of the historic International Women’s Day March of 1970 and the Boston Women’s March of 2017 will be on exhibit. The photographs of the International Women's March are of great historical impact and are, additionally, beautiful works of art in and of themselves. Viewing times are as follows: Saturday, 3/15: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, 3/18: 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, 3/19: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, 3/20: 5-8 p.m. Saturday, 3/22: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, 3/25: 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, 3/26: 5-8 p.m. Thursday, 3/27: 5-8 p.m. Liane Brandon received funding for "Still Marching" through a Local Cultural Council Grant from Cambridge Arts.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Ellen Pinsky and Michael Slevin, co-editors of the highly praised essay collection Driven to Write: 45 Writers on the Motives and Mysteries of their Craft. They will be joined for a panel discussion with several of the book's contributors including, Robert Pinsky, award-winning author of over twenty volumes of poetry, Stephen Greenblatt, Harvard professor and author of Dark Renaissance, Ha Jin, the William Fairfield Warren Distinguished Professor in English and Creative Writing at Boston University, and Sigrid Nunez, National Book Award-winning author of The Friend. This panel will be moderated by Rachel Dillon, poet and the managing editor of Ploughshares. Registration is required.
