Baker-Polito Administration Announces $668 Million Small Business Relief Package
The Baker-Polito Administration launched a $668 million program to provide financial assistance to Massachusetts small businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program in part relies on the pending federal COVID-19 relief bill recently passed by Congress. Regardless of the developments at the federal level, the Baker-Polito Administration will start releasing millions in new funding to restaurants, retailers, and other small businesses throughout the Commonwealth as soon as next week.
City & Community Support Provide Critical Financial Lifeline
One of Cambridge’s earliest actions in response to the emerging public health crisis was Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale activating the Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund to provide emergency assistance to individuals and families in Cambridge experiencing extreme financial hardship. Since March, more than $4.7 million in donations have been received from hundreds of generous residents and local corporations.

Cambridge Preschool Program Application Opens December 1
The City of Cambridge, in partnership with Cambridge Public Schools (CPS), announced today that applications for the Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) will be accepted beginning this Friday. Overseen by the Cambridge Office of Early Childhood, CPP is a publicly-funded program that will provide free school-day, school-year preschool to every 4-year-old and some 3-year-olds living in Cambridge. Extended day and summer programs are available at an additional cost for most families.
