The Department of Human Service Programs has seven high-quality preschools located throughout Cambridge. All DHSP preschools are full-time programs, operating 5 days a week and 12 months each year.

The city and Food for Free have set up the Cambridge Community Food Line (617-349-9155), a food item delivery service for Cambridge residents who are at high risk of food insecurity.

The Department of Transportation will host an information session about the EZRide Shuttle and its recently expanded schedule. This event will include a short presentation on the EZRide, which is a shuttle bus service that is open to the public for free. The Shuttle goes from North Station through Kendall Square and MIT to Cambridgeport on weekdays. We will show the route and its recently expanded schedule, including the new weekend service. The first step of this process is to conduct a comprehensive Needs Assessment. The primary purpose of the Needs Assessment is to gain an in-depth understanding of the community's most pressing needs and service gaps.

Get to Know Shamsher Bam, a public health nurse with the Cambridge Public Health Department, who sees building trust as central to his work. For him, that means meeting residents where they are, sharing information, and strengthening connections that keep the community healthy.

The MBTA plans to close parts of the Red Line in Cambridge in February in order to make track improvements, inspect tunnels, and make other upgrades. Free shuttles will replace regular train service on parts of the Red Line.

The event will feature vehicles and interactive exhibits from Cambridge Police, Fire, Public Works, Animal Control, Emergency Communications, and the Park Rangers, along with our partners from the Massachusetts Environmental Police, Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, and Professional Ambulance Service.

The Housing Liaison to the City Manager was established in 2019 to augment the work of the Community Development Department (CDD) and the Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) in addressing the affordable housing crisis in the City.
