CDC Director adopts CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation that endorsed the safety and effectiveness of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and its use in 12- through 15-year-old adolescents. CDC now recommends that this vaccine be used among this population, and providers may begin vaccinating them right away.

The City of Cambridge and the Cambridge Public Health Department are launching a pilot Cambridge Community Corps program to support and encourage residents to adopt safe practices when using city parks and other recreational areas during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) Advisory Board works to increase access to all aspects of Cambridge community life for people with disabilities. CCPD raises awareness of disability issues and promotes equal opportunity for people with a range of abilities, including physical, mental, and sensory.

The BZA is a quasi-judicial body that conducts public hearings on applications and appeals and issues decisions that shape the use and appearance of buildings.

The Cambridge Housing Authority provides long-term rental housing and rental assistance. More than 10,000 low-income families, elders, and disabled individuals receive this assistance.

This new program is aimed at protecting the health of our local rivers and reducing street flooding. Residents and business owners are encouraged to participate by claiming a storm drain in their neighborhood and keeping it clear of debris, particularly ahead of rain events. With 5,800 City owned storm drains in Cambridge, the task of maintaining them is substantial. City crews work diligently to clear storm drains before and after storms, but this task can be completed more quickly with community assistance.
