The City will be partnering with the Office of Tourism and CambridgeSide to host a free watch party for the World Cup final around CambridgeSide on Sunday, July 19. Festivities will begin at 2 p.m. and kickoff starts at 3 p.m.

This month's book is The Homework Machine by Dan Gutman. Four very different students are stuck sitting together at the “D” table, but form an unlikely alliance when one of them creates a machine that can do their homework for them at the press of a button. Soon, though, tensions form and even when they try to put it behind them the machine takes on a life of its own. Copies of this month's book are available at the Children's Desk. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. Registration is required — only one registration is needed per family. Due to the abnormally low levels, the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) elevated the Northeast Region of Massachusetts, which includes Cambridge, from a Level 2 - Significant Drought to a Level 3 - Critical Drought on Friday, February 7.

The Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) has reduced the Cambridge and Northeast region drought level status from a Level 3 - Critical Drought to a Level 2 - Significant Drought. Cambridge has been in a Critical Drought since late May 2026.

The City of Cambridge announced that it is extending its rollback to a modified Phase II, Step 2 of the Commonwealth’s Reopening Massachusetts Plan for one week and will be returning to Phase III, Step 1 effective on Monday, February 8 at 12:00 a.m.
