The Winter Warming Center, open December 1 through April 30 for the 2025-2026 season, provides a safe and welcoming space at night for adults experiencing homelessness. The nightly maximum capacity at the Warming Center is 35 individuals.

Our Magic Tree House book group for kids ages 5-10 meets the first Friday of the month. Pick up a copy of the book beforehand. Our September book is Magic Tree House #1, "Dinosaurs Before Dark." Due to the abnormally low levels, the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) today elevated the Northeast Region of Massachusetts, which includes Cambridge, from a Level 1- Mild Drought to a Level 3- Critical Drought.

The Cambridge Public Health Department will be handing out free Narcan, test strips, CPR face shields, and other harm reduction materials at the Central Square Branch of the Cambridge Public Library on Dec. 9 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
