In observance of the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 7, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed, and payments will not be required at City of Cambridge parking meters and parking meter pay stations. All library locations will also be closed Sunday, September 6.

The Cambridge Police Department, Middlesex District Attorney's Office, and Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office have launched an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a deceased individual with an apparent gunshot near the intersection of Broadway & Norfolk Street. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Cambridge Police Department at (617) 349-3300. In July, the City Manager’s Office in collaboration with the Cambridge Public Health Department launched the Cambridge Community Corps program, which was developed to help encourage Cambridge residents to adopt and keep practicing safe habits, such as wearing a mask and maintaining good hand hygiene, which will help slow the spread of COVID-19. The Corps Members will be giving positive reinforcement on healthy behaviors and having friendly and helpful interactions with their neighbors.
