Make Your Own Vision Board (O'Connell)
Join us for a cozy craft at the O’Connell Branch! Take a moment to reflect on 2025 and create your own vision board for 2026. All materials will be provided. This is a drop-in event designed for all ages. No registration required.
Twilight Party for Middle Schoolers (O'Neill)

CPL Nature Club: Herb of the Month - Plantain (Collins)
Come spend the afternoon getting deeply acquainted with May's Herb of the Month - the plantain! We’ll spend time getting to know the plant through drawing, taste, science, and stories of herbalists’ experience. Bring your journal and leave with an in-depth account of botany, history, use, safety issues, preparation and dosage, and much much more. The group will meet at the Collins Library (64 Aberdeen Ave) and walk to Fresh Pond together. This program is part of a series hosted around the area with guest herbalist, Mo Katz-Christy. Come each month to build your materia medica or just once to meet a new plant friend!
Youth Dungeons & Dragons Session 3/3 (Valente Branch)
Youth ages 10-16 are welcome to join for three sessions of cooperative role-play and storytelling as we build out skills playing the table-top game DnD. The first session will include a character-building introduction followed by play continued into the next two sessions. No prior DnD experience is required, and experienced players are also welcome to join. Registration is required, as the program is capped at 8 players. Please plan to attend all sessions! (Registration is attached to the first DnD session on 11/7 and closed on that date.) The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability. We may provide auxiliary aids and services, written materials in alternative formats, and reasonable modifications in policies and procedures to people with disabilities. Summer Reading: Make Your Own Flower Press (Boudreau)
Join our friends from New England Botanic Garden to create an upcycled press for preserving leaves and petals. We will also learn about the lifecycle changes from flower to fruit, and dissect a tulip. Recommended for age 7 and up with a caregiver. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

No registration required. This program is recommended for children 4-8 and their caregivers. Hosted by Mass Audubon and the Cambridge Public Library.

Family Cookbook Book Group (Valente)
Children and their grown-ups are invited to this special kid-centered cookbook club! This month, we're celebrating flatbreads of all varieties (pizzas included!) Bring a dish to share, or just come to talk about your experience with a chosen cookbook. No need to bring a dish to join. Visit Valente for a themed selection of cookbooks that are ready to check out. Registration is required; sign-ups available in-person at Valente or through calling at 617-349-4015. Wellness for Older Adults: Low-impact Fitness (Valente)
This class is designed for people of all levels to strengthen the muscles, the heart and the brain--all while having fun and moving to great music! Come as you are and take everything at your own pace. This class is conducted from a standing position and incorporates exercises like modified lunges, cardio, and body resistance strength training. Registration for each session is required. This is an in-person event in the Program Room of the Valente Branch Library.
