Join us during the partial solar eclipse and learn how to safely observe it! Eclipse glasses will be provided. Participants will also have the chance to explore a walkable model of the solar system and create a related craft. This program will happen outside. The Cambridge Public Health Department Reports New Cases of COVID-19 in Long-Term Care Facilities
On Monday, October 26, the Cambridge Public Health Department was alerted through the MAVEN surveillance system and the facility that a resident of an assisted living facility in Cambridge tested positive for COVID-19. This individual experienced symptoms of COVID-19 before being brought to a local hospital for evaluation, where they tested positive and were admitted.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Daniel Pollack-Pelzner—cultural historian, theater critic, and professor of English and theater at Portland State University—for a discussion of his highly anticipated biography of Broadway superstar Lin-Manuel Miranda, titled Lin-Manuel Miranda: The Education of an Artist. He will be joined in conversation by Dani Snyder-Young—esteemed Northeastern University theater professor, who appears in Lin-Manuel Miranda as his director for the Wesleyan production of Jesus Christ Superstar that launched him into collegiate superstardom. Join the Cambridge Black History Project and the Cambridge Public Library in welcoming Warren Eugene Milteer Jr. for a reading and discussion of his new book, Out of This Strife Will Come Freedom: Free People of Color and the Fight for Equal Rights in the Civil War Era. The recipient of the Southern Historical Association’s Charles S. Sydnor Award for the best book in Southern history in 2022, Milteer will be joined in conversation by Susan Tomlinson, an associate professor of English at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
