The Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) provides access to free school-day, school-year preschool for all Cambridge 4-year-olds and some 3-year-olds. CPP, managed by the Cambridge Office of Early Childhood, is a mixed-delivery system that allows families to choose preschool programs that best fir their family's needs. DHSP Preschools are a partner provider of CPP.

People of all ages who enjoy children's books can read and discuss together. Food will be provided. This month we will be reading Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell. Please pick up a copy of the book beforehand at the O'Neill Branch Library. This book group will meet in person at the O'Neill Branch Library. Please register below.

Interested in a career as a Police Officer with the Cambridge Police Department, MBTA Transit Police, Massachusetts State Police, or other municipal police department? First step in the hiring process for CPD and many other agencies is to take the Massachusetts Civil Service Police Exam. Next exam is scheduled for March with a registration deadline of February 2nd.

Through the Cambridge Second Chance Program, members of the Cambridge Police Department’s Clinical Support Unit work with eligible residents and various partners through the Cambridge Community Court to seal their statutorily-eligible CORI (criminal offender record information) in order to help support long-term, unhoused residents who have not been able to secure housing due to their criminal records.

“Still Marching 1970-2017,” an exhibition of original photographs by Liane Brandon, opens with a reception sponsored by the Cambridge Public Library, the Cambridge Women's Commission, and the Cambridge Historical Commission. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is not required. Liane Brandon received funding for "Still Marching" through a Local Cultural Council Grant from the Cambridge Arts Council.

Today's class has been cancelled. A series of classes with instruction from Comedian Jack Simon for individuals with some improv experience. Learn how to seamlessly integrate interactive improv games, scenes, and skillful storytelling that all come together with performance. This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. A community meeting has been scheduled to discuss a shooting on January 13 that resulted in a 21-year-old man being tragically killed outside of a Clifton Street residence. The meeting will include the latest information on the shooting. The preliminary investigation suggested the fatal shooting was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the general public.
