Join us for a Know Your Rights presentation led by an attorney from De Novo. This session will share important updates for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients, including: How to renew your TPS Work permit and travel information Legal supports and available resources You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and connect with local organizations that can help with ongoing support. This a hybrid event. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants 1 hour before the event. We will be providing interpretation in Spanish and Haitian Creole on location during the event. Every month we will read and discuss a short story as a group. This months story is "Uncle Robert Rides the Lightning" by Kate Hart, included in the anthology Never Whistle at Night. No preparation needed! Copies of the story will be available for pick up at the Central Square Branch. Registration is helpful but not required!

The Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) provides access to free school-day, school-year preschool for all Cambridge 4-year-olds and some 3-year-olds. CPP, managed by the Cambridge Office of Early Childhood, is a mixed-delivery system that allows families to choose preschool programs that best fir their family's needs. DHSP Preschools are a partner provider of CPP.

People of all ages who enjoy children's books can read and discuss together. Food will be provided. This month we will be reading Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell. Please pick up a copy of the book beforehand at the O'Neill Branch Library. This book group will meet in person at the O'Neill Branch Library. Please register below.

Interested in a career as a Police Officer with the Cambridge Police Department, MBTA Transit Police, Massachusetts State Police, or other municipal police department? First step in the hiring process for CPD and many other agencies is to take the Massachusetts Civil Service Police Exam. Next exam is scheduled for March with a registration deadline of February 2nd.

Through the Cambridge Second Chance Program, members of the Cambridge Police Department’s Clinical Support Unit work with eligible residents and various partners through the Cambridge Community Court to seal their statutorily-eligible CORI (criminal offender record information) in order to help support long-term, unhoused residents who have not been able to secure housing due to their criminal records.

“Still Marching 1970-2017,” an exhibition of original photographs by Liane Brandon, opens with a reception sponsored by the Cambridge Public Library, the Cambridge Women's Commission, and the Cambridge Historical Commission. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is not required. Liane Brandon received funding for "Still Marching" through a Local Cultural Council Grant from the Cambridge Arts Council.

Today's class has been cancelled. A series of classes with instruction from Comedian Jack Simon for individuals with some improv experience. Learn how to seamlessly integrate interactive improv games, scenes, and skillful storytelling that all come together with performance. This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. Space is limited to 15 participants.
