Summer Reading: Arthropod Petting Zoo (Valente)
The Arthropod Petting Zoo is a hands-on, show-and-tell introduction to entomology featuring real live insects and arthropods! While having fun and interacting with genuine crawling critters, kids learn about biology, taxonomy, adaptations, and scientific thinking that real scientists use in the field. Recommended for ages 3-12 and their families. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Cambridge to Launch Hampshire Street Safety Improvement Project
Through the Hampshire Street Safety Improvement Project, the City will add separated bike lanes to Hampshire Street between Inman Square and Broadway, creating a more comfortable biking connection between Inman Square and the Port/Kendall Square. We will also make improvements to existing crosswalks and changes to parking and loading.
Mental Health First Aid (Main)
Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants to identify, understand and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. The course will cover risk factors and warning signs, an understanding of the impact on individuals, family and community and an overview of treatment interventions. Participants will have an opportunity to learn and practice a five-step action plan to assess a situation, implement interventions and secure appropriate care for the person experiencing a crisis. 2015 Site Monitoring Report
Highlights include: a proposed wet meadow restoration project in Weston, ongoing construction and improvements along Route 2 and 128 that will result in 5 new stormwater treatment and spill containment basins, improvements to 8 existing basins along Route 128, and the creation of vegetated swales in the Route 2 median.
