Party like you just got your first library card! Kindergartners and their grown-ups are invited to a special party! Drop in between 5:30 and 6:30pm to enjoy pizza, create a collaborative mural, and learn about all the fun things you can do with your new library card! Kindergartners, along with their families and friends, are welcome to attend.

Join Cambridge native and former Master Chef contestant, Malcolm Green, as he prepares stuffed salmon with shrimp and spinach, topped with a Creole cream sauce, in celebration of Black History Month as part of the Cambridge Cooks Series. Cambridge Cooks promotes healthy eating and the local restaurant scene by inviting a local chef for a cooking demo followed by a tasting.

As a group we'll connect with nature and the neighborhood mindfully with a gentle walk and draw on contemplative practices. What to bring: layered clothing, comfortable shoes and water. Meet neighborhood locations and greet your neighbors! Join Stefanie Haug, local mindful nature guide, as we explore Cambridge one neighborhood at a time, with a local library branch as our home base. These leisurely walks blend local history, nature, and contemplative practices, with lots of time to pause and share. Participants are encouraged to bring their own neighborhood stories, discover something new, and build connections with people and places. The our final neighborhood walk through East Cambridge, launching from the lovely O'Connell Library. The walk will conclude at Elmendorf Baking Store & Cafe close to the library. What to bring: layered clothing, comfortable shoes and water. Where to meet: At the O'Connell Branch entrance. Registration is requested but not required.

Zahirah Nur Truth of ZNT Arts will facilitate a workshop that honors creative expression as a tool to empower young people to celebrate joy! Spring is the time to set new intentions. We will use text art inspired by artists that work in collage, stencil and 3D art. Come make your very own unique colorful vibrant Spring posters. We will be using flowers, fabric and more.

The Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s Students for Smiles Club and the Cambridge Public Library are hosting a free community event on oral health. Attendees will learn how to brush and floss the right way through a short talk and hands-on practice. The program will also share simple tips for preventing common dental problems and explain when to see a dentist. Free toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and local dental care resources will be available for everyone.

Bring your project and enjoy the company of other fiber crafters Drop-in with this informal group to work on your craft, get inspired, pick up skills and socialize. Knit, embroider, crochet, spin, mend, cross stitch and more. All crafts are welcome!
