Take fear and uncertainty out of the future by being prepared for changes in health. This session will cover topics and tips related to preparing for sudden changes and what you can do to minimize the impact of illness, such as advanced directives, emergency planning, and communication.

Stand with Sudan: Teach-in with Transition Magazine (Main/Virtual)
Join the Cambridge Public Library for a Teach-In facilitated by the team of Transition Magazine. Contributors to the current issue on Sudan—Fatin Abbas, Alex De Waal, Nisrin Elamin, and Alden Young—as well as members of the local Sudanese community will speak and discuss the present-day conflict in Sudan, its roots, what stands to be lost, and how to move toward a lasting peace.
Free copies of the Sudan issue of Transition will be on hand. Registration is required for virtual attendance.
[Cancelled] Wellness for Older Adults: Low-impact Fitness (Valente)
Class on July 1 has been cancelled.
This class is designed for people of all levels to strengthen the muscles, the heart and the brain--all while having fun and moving to great music! Come as you are and take everything at your own pace. This class is conducted from a standing position and incorporates exercises like modified lunges, cardio, and body resistance strength training.
Registration for each session is required.
This is an in-person event in the Program Room of the Valente Branch Library.
Culinary Classes for Older Adults: Cooking to Reduce Food Waste (Virtual)
Join us for a fun and educational one-hour cooking class focused on reducing food waste! Chef Kelcy will show you how to creatively use what you have on hand to reduce food waste while making flavorful dishes that highlight seasonal ingredients. Whether you're looking to minimize waste in your own kitchen or just love learning new cooking techniques, this class is sure to inspire!
Chef Kelcy is a Lowell-based chef and educator who emphasizes seasonal eating and community support. As the Farm Chef at Wright-Locke Farm in Winchester, MA, she conducts educational programs for all ages and creates delightful farm-to-table food experiences.
