Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Julia Minson—behavioral scientist and celebrated professor at the Harvard Kennedy School—for a discussion of her book, How to Disagree Better: The Secret to Less Conflict and More Influence. Registration is required.

Decorate a handheld paper fan using the simple, meditative basics of Chigiri-e (“chee-gee-ree-eh”), a traditional Japanese art form where the name literally means "torn picture." There will also be a mini-mural station for families to decorate collaboratively to celebrate wrapping up this year's Summer Reading program. An assortment of colorful papers as well as markers, book-themed stickers and other decorations will be provided. Space is limited and registration is required. There will be two identical back-to-back 60 minute sessions (from 2-3 and again from 3-4). Please sign up for only one session.

Children and families can join us for a story time and exploration around the outdoor space around the Library to look for plant and animal life. Because of the weather, this program will happen inside the O'Neill Branch. This story time is presented as part of the Cambridge Public Library Nature Club.

Bring extra seeds, plants or harvested items from your garden to swap at the Library! We will also have seeds, soil and biodegradable pots so you can plant flowers and vegetables to grow in the late summer and fall. This program is open to people of all ages! No registration is required.

Carrie plays original whimsical songs with the assistance of their players to bring a rocking live show to the people, bringing messages of acceptance and identity in a fun and jubilant way. Party in the Curious George Room with families of all ages, and join CPL in showing your pride!

Families with elementary school age children join us for hands-on activities focused on Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering, and Math. Adults and children will learn and play together! This month we will learn about pollinators with Cambridge Wildlife Arts. We will plant seeds and make bumblebee puppets! This program is a part of the CPL Nature Club.
