Free Family Concert: Radius Ensemble presents Peter and the Wolf (Main)
Join us for a relaxed Saturday morning concert with Radius Ensemble! The concert, geared toward preschool children but appropriate for all ages, features a delightful abridged version of Prokofiev's Peter & the Wolf (at the end of which the wolf, instead of meeting his demise, is taken to the zoo), plus also other silly songs about animals, as well as a show-and-tell of the instruments of the woodwind family. For the final piece of this 45-minute program, children are invited to play along on hand percussion instruments such as tambourines and claves, and each child receives a free colorful shaker to take home.
Recommended for children ages 3 to 5 years with caregiver. This program can accommodate 130 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly, and any unclaimed seats will be offered to someone waiting. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Romance Book Group Film Screening: Twilight
Preceding our October 13th discussion of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, join us for a free screening of the 2008 film adaptation starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to bring friends! We encourage audience participation! Quote reciting is a must for Twilight!
Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
Open Studio at the Library (Central Square)
Get creative at the Library and join us for a casual evening of art making. We'll have supplies for drawing and painting, calligraphy, collage, and more along with instructional books to refer to. Bring a friend and come share casual crafting time together. Attendees are welcome to bring their own projects as well.
Kids' Books for Everyone Book Swap (O'Neill)
Bring a kids' book or two to swap and go home with a new book for yourself! People of all ages who enjoy kids' books are welcome.
Please do not bring more than one or two books. You are welcome to take home a book even if you did not bring one. Contributions will not be accepted in advance of the event.
“Still Marching 1970-2017” Photography Exhibit (Main)
Liane Brandon’s photographs of the historic International Women’s Day March of 1970 and the Boston Women’s March of 2017 will be on exhibit.
The photographs of the International Women's March are of great historical impact and are, additionally, beautiful works of art in and of themselves.
