Explore bones and meet real-live creepy crawlies in this science-based program with entomology expert, Professor Bugman! Registration is required for this program. Drop by the Central Square Branch's Lewis Room to do jigsaw puzzles and chat with your neighbors. Puzzles and snacks will be provided. No registration required. Explore our outdoor world, get creative, and make sun prints (aka cyanotypes) at the Central Square Branch. A selection of flora, other natural materials, and simple found objects will be available to create a collage and then print with the sun. Or bring your own materials! Participants will have the opportunity to display their work in the Branch during the month of August. In the case of rain or inclement weather, we'll be indoors painting botanical water colors.

The Mass Ave Planning Study Working Group will meet to discuss community feedback from Round 2 and provide input on the draft recommendations for South of Porter Square study area. Additionally, there will be a conversation with development experts on development feasibility currently, and the in the future, on Mass Ave.

The Phoenix Landing will produce Mardi Gras in June, bringing the spirit of community joy and celebration to Lafayette Square (intersection of Mass Ave and Main St). Legless Lizard will bring the New Orleans-style Mardi Gras tunes. The event is planned for June 26, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

The Cambridge Police Department is investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred on June 11, 2024. The victim told officers on scene that at approximately 12:20 a.m., on the 200 block of Franklin Street, the victim was conversing with three individuals, and does not recall what happened next. The victim reported waking up in a parking lot in Central Square and having been assaulted.
