Learn about the centuries-old art of reverse glass painting and create your own reverse painting! Choose from three images and paint it using acrylic paint on clear acetate. This program can accommodate 30 youth ages 11 to 18 years old. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly. Unclaimed seats will be offered to someone waiting. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Join herbalist Mo Katz-Christy for a walk through Danehy Park to identify plants and their medicinal uses! We will explore weeds and cultivated plants, trees and shrubs, with plenty of time for questions and conversation. Bring a notebook if you like. Meet us at the parking lot on Sherman Street (if you’re late you should be able to find us – we won’t move too far too fast!). Registration is required.

Many of our schools, hospitals and senior living facilities are located on busy streets. This project will enable the city to install comprehensive Complete Streets treatments at one or more intersections around these facilities to improve pedestrian safety in Cambridge

Property owners/residents are responsible for removing all snow and ice from sidewalks and accessible ramps next to their property following a storm per City Ordinance. Ice needs to be removed within 6 hours from the time it forms, and snow needs to be removed within 12 hours after snow stops falling during the day and before 1 p.m. if it snowed during the night, per City Ordinance. The fine for failing to comply with the City’s sidewalk clearance ordinances is $50/day for each day of non-compliance. Here are some helpful tips to follow.

Palmer Street is getting a makeover! In an effort to transform this Harvard Square alley into a more active and welcoming public space, the City is introducing colorful tables and chairs, playful magnetic poetry boards, a public piano, plantings, and an artistic canopy.

Generally, streets that have been accepted by City Council are referred to as public streets or ways. All other streets are referred to as private/unaccepted. For more information on acceptance and maintenance please refer to Massachusetts General Laws Chapters 82, 83, and 84.

The Cambridge Arts Council and Gallery 344 are located in the renovated City Hall Annex at 344 Broadway. We welcome everyone to visit our space and to view the large-scale wall paintings created by Mike Glier for the Annex. We also invite you to view current and future projects at Gallery 344 attend our public events. The objective of the programming at Gallery 344 is to explore and advance the role of art in public life. We involve local, regional, and national artists in exhibitions and educational programming that engage our audience throughout the City and beyond.
