CPL Nature Club - Spring Birdwatching at Fresh Pond (O'Neill)
All ages are welcome to join us as we observe birds at Fresh Pond. We will look for birds migrating to or through our area as well as year-round resident birds. As we walk we will discuss general birdwatching tips and learn more about the birds we share our outdoor spaces with. A limited supply of binoculars will be available.
Registration is required for this event.

Cambridge Public Library's O'Neill Branch is joining with The Ashland Public Library to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We're thrilled to welcome author and historian Gregory E. O'Malley who will be discussing his book, "The Escapes of David George: An Odyssey of Slavery, Freedom, and the American Revolution" which reveals a remarkable, untold experience of the American revolutionary period—a Black man’s quest for the freedom espoused by our Founders, but denied him and other enslaved people. Although mask orders are no longer in effect, many people in Cambridge continue to mask up in indoor settings and on public transportation. We are experiencing an increase in COVID-19 cases both regionally and in the city, and taking measures to protect yourself is a smart choice.
Street Cleaning Resumes April 1
Street cleaning resumes on Monday, April 1 for the 2024 season. Just like last year, vehicles will not be towed during street cleaning operations. However, it's essential for residents to move their vehicles according to the posted street cleaning schedule to ensure thorough cleaning of our City streets. Parking tickets of $50 will be issued to those who do not move their vehicles.
