Join us for a demonstration of capoeira, a unique Afro-Brazilian art form combining martial arts, dance, music and acrobatics. Following the performance, children will have the opportunity to learn basic capoeira movements. Recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers. Join author Olivia Hoblitzelle as she talks about the process of reviewing your life. Whatever one's age, the process of life review can be a creative and illuminating experience. However one chooses to do it - whether through writing, art, photographs, or recording stories - surprising insights and revelations can happen. Additionally, Olivia will reflect on her recent spiritual memoir Ley Lines of Love: Adventures Along the Spiritual Path.

Parents’ Choice Award winner Motoko regales families (ages 5 and up) with delightful folktales from her native Japan, combined with hands-on origami activities. Danehy Park is a popular, 50-acre park in north Cambridge. For more than 30 years, residents and visitors have enjoyed the park’s athletic fields, walking paths, playgrounds, public art, dog park, and community events. We want Danehy Park to continue being a place that everyone can enjoy. We are starting a community process to gather ideas, information, and feedback about how to make Danehy even better!

Join us outdoors at the O'Neill Branch to celebrate the end of the school year and the start of the summer! Pick up a "blossom kit" (small growing kit with seeds) while supplies last. We will also have food, games and art. No registration is required. All ages are welcome! In case of rain or bad weather this event will be inside the O'Neill Branch.

Cool down under “SHADE” at Donnelly Field. Designed by local teens in collaboration with engineers, educator mentors, youth advocates and designers, SHADE is one of three temporary public art structures that have been installed across the as part of the City of Cambridge’s Shade Is Social Justice program to provide shade and seating, and to further the city’s efforts to address our warming world.

Nine Cambridge cultural organizations have been awarded $81,000 in Organizational Investment Grants by Cambridge Arts and the City of Cambridge. The nonprofits are community art centers, associations and performance venues. They offer teaching and professional development, live music and dance, and broadcast cultural programming to diverse audiences. The funding program provides $9,000 grants to each nonprofit to support operational costs, sustainability, and resiliency for local cultural organizations that benefit Cambridge residents.

The Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) offers summer camps and programs to Cambridge children and youth in Kindergarten through 8th grade. At these summer camps, children and youth learn new skills, make connections, and have fun! Activities include art, sports, swimming, field trips, and more. All DHSP summer camps and programs are filled through a lottery process. The online application process closes Sunday March 3.

Treat yourself to an afternoon of fun, creativity, and community while a local artist guides us step-by-step through the process of painting a beautiful art piece, suitable for hanging on your door or wall. Tea and light refreshments provided. No experience necessary. All are welcome. Old clothing recommended, as acrylic paint can stain. Seating is limited to 8.
