As part of our Black History Month celebration, the Peace Commission invites you to Step Into the World of Gospel Music through a special concert featuring the Millennium Gospel Choir, presented in partnership with the Cambridge Public Library. Gospel music is a foundational part of Black American history and culture. Emerging from the lived experiences of Black communities, gospel has long been a source of expression, resilience, storytelling, and collective joy. It has shaped American music far beyond church walls, influencing soul, jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and the popular music we know today. This concert is offered as a cultural and historical experience, highlighting gospel's role in the Black freedom struggle, community building, and artistic innovation. Through powerful vocals and rich musical traditions, the performance invites reflection on how music has carried hope, resistance, and connection across generations. Whether you are familiar with gospel or experiencing it for the first time, all are welcome to join us in honoring this enduring art form and its place in Black history.

Join us for a hands-on workshop at the Cambridge Public Library to explore what's available and learn how to analyze and visualize this data — including how to use AI tools for data exploration. Today's class has been cancelled. A series of classes with instruction from Comedian Jack Simon for individuals with some improv experience. Learn how to seamlessly integrate interactive improv games, scenes, and skillful storytelling that all come together with performance. This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. Space is limited to 15 participants.

Award-winning storyteller Motoko will discuss how Japanese folklore has inspired games and anime in the U.S. and around the world. Bring a stuffed animal to the Library for a fun story time! Tuck your animal in, wish them sweet dreams, and read them a good night story. Come back on Tuesday 8/4 (or later) to pick up your friend and find out what adventures they had! Please make sure to bring an animal you are comfortable leaving overnight. This program is recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers. No registration is required.

Join us to celebrate National Bike to Work Day. Mechanics from Urban AdvenTours will provide tips and assistance with basic bike repair. Be sure to bring your wheels! Registration is not required.
