The climate is changing, and we're all here on the planet together. Join us for a monthly community gathering and discussion of a variety of books about climate change. We will share thoughts, resources, and occasionally host special guests in a welcoming small-group environment. For our December meeting, we will discuss This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate by Naomi Klein. Copies of the book are available at the Main Library Q&A Desk. E-book copies of the book are available to borrow on the Libby app and audiobook copies are available immediately on the Hoopla app. Registration is required. For our March meeting, we will discuss Human Nature: nine ways to feel about our changing planet by Kate Marvel (this book was originally our January read, but the discussion was cancelled due to weather). Are you curious about poop? This program goes down the sewer, out into space, deep under the sea and back to the time of the dinosaurs to explore what happens to all of our poop. Susie Maguire at The Poop Museum is a poop expert who thinks poop is THE most interesting subject in the world. She has studied poop for years and loves nothing more than sharing her expansive knowledge of poop. Recommended for children ages 5-10 years old and their caregivers.

In Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Labs, students dive into the exciting world of social robots—machines designed to interact, learn, and connect. From brainstorming ideas to building prototypes, students explore how AI and robotics can foster fairer, more inclusive communities. They design robots that serve as friendly companions, offering support, connection, and solutions to real-world challenges. Teens in 7th and 8th grade are invited to learn more and apply on the iFp website: Innovators for Purpose. Skills Learned: Human-Centered Design, Mechanics, Electronics, Computer Programming, AI, and more.

Get up close and personal with chickens! This program includes a chicken-themed story time and educational games about chicken behavior and anatomy. The highlight of the program is the Chicken Circle, where youth are able to touch and interact with live chickens. Recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers. This program will happen indoors due to the heat. Registration is required. When registering, please list how many children are attending.
