The Department of Human Service Programs offers afterschool programs for Cambridge children in Kindergarten through 8th grade, designed to develop social and emotional growth. On December 8th, 2023, Commissioner Christine Elow announced that Superintendent Pauline Wells has graduated as a member of the 288th session of the FBI National Academy. The graduation took place at the National Academy in Quantico, Virginia on December 7th, 2023.

A Cambridge Police Officer shot an adult male, who preliminary information suggests, was in possession of a machete. The male was immediately rendered medical aid by officers until EMS arrived on-scene. He was then transported to a local hospital, where died from his injuries.
