The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has recognized the City of Cambridge for its outstanding financial reporting practices.

On September 6, 2022, Yi-An Huang was sworn in as Cambridge’s City Manager. Mr. Huang is the first Asian American to serve as Cambridge City Manager.

On November 3, the City began a 5-year agreement with Casella Waste Systems to collect and haul the City’s residential recycling and yard waste.

In addition to initiatives to make buildings and vehicles more sustainable, the City addresses other issues including: Urban forestry, Recycling, composting, and waste reduction, Environmentally preferable purchasing, Stormwater management and Safe drinking water supply.

Energy Reduction and Renewable Energy

The City of Cambridge will offer the Cambridge Small Business Coaching Program to established Cambridge small services and/or retailers who are eligible based on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG/HUD) criteria.
