The City of Cambridge issues a number of licenses related to the resale of goods including, second hand goods, antique shops, and auctioneers.

Starting this week, the Cambridge Community Safety Department’s CARE (Community Assistance Response and Engagement) Team began responding to needle pickup calls in public spaces across Cambridge. Needle pickup calls are the first call types that the CARE Team is being dispatched to.

34 artists and organizations are being awarded $112,461 in Local Cultural Council Grant funding by Cambridge Arts and the City of Cambridge. City Manager Yi-An Huang is seeking Cambridge residents, business owners, and local professionals interested in serving on the Recycling Advisory Committee (RAC) beginning in January 2023. The RAC is a volunteer committee which provides advice, recommendations, and assistance to the Department of Public Works (DPW) regarding recycling, composting, reuse, and waste reduction. The RAC does this through research, feedback, public outreach, and event planning. The RAC has helped the city implement the Zero Waste Master Plan, curbside composting, Fix-It Clinics, marketing and education, and other important initiatives that have made Cambridge a national leader in waste reduction.

OWD recently hosted a "Dress to Impress" free thrift store, open to Cambridge residents between the ages of 18 and 40 who participate in Cambridge Works, Next Up, the Cambridge Employment Program, Cambridge Youth Programs, and the College Success Initiative. During the event, clients browsed a variety of lightly worn, high-quality professional clothing to wear at internships and jobs.
