Back by popular demand! Join the Friends of the Cambridge Public Library for their used book sale! They'll be selling gently used children’s and adult fiction and nonfiction books at low prices to benefit the Cambridge Public Library. The book sale will be held on June 7-8 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at 20 Holyoke Street. Funds from the sales will be used to support Library programs.

Join Navigation Games for Leprechaun Orienteering, a free and fun outdoor event for all ages at Kingsley Park in Fresh Pond Reservation. Teams of 2–4 people will travel through the park and use a special map to look for checkpoints — before tricky leprechauns move them! The event is sponsored by the City of Cambridge.

Join us at the Valente library for some dinosaur fun! It's your turn to be a paleontologist: use a chisel and brush to excavate your own tiny dinosaur. We'll play dinosaur trivia and look at dinosaur books! All supplies provided by the library. Recommended for ages 5+. Dinosaur coloring pages will be provided for younger children. The Cambridge Department of Public Works honored three DPW employees with the Ruth and Carl F. Barron Family Achievement Award on March 6, 2025. The Ruth and Carl F. Barron Family Achievement Award, established in 1992, is presented in recognition of outstanding productivity, distinguished performance and service to the City of Cambridge and Department of Public Works.

The City of Cambridge Pandemic Collaborative and its partners is offering upcoming COVID-19 vaccine clinics. These clinics are free. No appointment is required, and you do not need insurance, an ID, or a social security number to get the vaccine. Getting a vaccine will NOT affect a public charge determination or immigration status.

The Office of Sustainability (OoS) was created in July 2024 to institutionalize climate actions across all City departments. Cambridge’s first Chief Climate Officer began work in October 2024. The OoS is built on nearly two decades of efforts by multiple departments to reduce Cambridge's reliance on fossil fuels and prepare for extreme weather.

Learn about the local tradition of turning maple sap into maple syrup with Land's Sake Farm! Enjoy a maple sugaring themed story time, touch and explore the tools we use to make maple syrup, and try using hand drills to tap a demonstration log. This program is recommended for children ages 4 and up. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required - please register only the children who will be attending the program.
