City of Cambridge Halloween Events and Important Safety Tips
The Halloween season offers a variety of fun events for children, youth and families across the City of Cambridge. Various city departments will be sponsoring Halloween events in Cambridge. For general Halloween safety, all kids are reminded to wear reflective colors, carry a flashlight when it gets dark, and use extra caution crossing streets. Young children should be accompanied by an adult or a responsible older kid. Additionally, Cambridge Police Officers will be out in various areas of the city engaging with people in the community who are out trick or treating.
Digital Sign at City Hall in Multiple Languages
Digital sign that will scroll announcements in multiple languages and welcome people to Cambridge. It will be easily seen when residents go by and will be a prototype that if successful can be replicated in other areas of the city.
Central Square City Lots Study - Virtual Public Meeting October 25
This will be a virtual public meeting to share information about the project; review the sites that we are planning for; and receive community input and ideas on future uses for these properties. We will cover similar content to our prior in-person meeting, but in an online friendly format. Central Square City Lots Study: The City of Cambridge Community Development Department (CDD), in collaboration with other city departments and the Cambridge community, is leading a municipal property needs assessment and planning study for city-owned properties in Central Square.

Ayah Al-Zubi is serving her first term on the Cambridge City Council as the youngest Councillor in the City's history. She moved around a lot growing up, landing in Cambridge for college which has now become home. She is a graduate of Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She is a Muslim Arab woman who rents in the city and understands the difficulty of trying to get by.

The Planning Board is a group of Cambridge residents who make recommendations and decisions about urban development on behalf of the City of Cambridge. The Planning Board has seven full members and two associate members. All members can participate in Planning Board discussions.

City of Cambridge Launches Sustainable Cambridge and Celebrates Earth Month
The City of Cambridge has officially launched Sustainable Cambridge, a new initiative that encompasses all of Cambridge’s efforts to address climate change while keeping the community welcoming, neighborly, and beautiful. City of Cambridge Releases Amended Temporary Emergency Construction Order
Under this Emergency Order, the City will only allow construction activity that complies with the provisions of the Order, the MA Sector Specific Workplace Safety Standards for Construction Sites, the MA Safety Standards, and the MA COVID-19 Checklist issued on May 18, 2020. Additionally, the City has established a new four-phased approach for resuming existing construction permits will begin on May 25, 2020, and approving of applications for new building permits will tentatively begin on June 29, 2020.

The City of Cambridge and Cambridge Public Schools, in partnership with local nonprofit Food for Free, have served thousands of meals to Cambridge adults and children since widespread closures and food service disruptions due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak began in mid-March.
