Every fire company in the city is an EMS unit, staffed with Firefighter EMTs, Paramedics, and Medical 1st Responders answering more than 7,000 EMS calls per year, providing optimal medical care 24/7/365, under any conditions.

The Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA), with financial support from the City of Cambridge Affordable Housing Trust (AHT), has successfully purchased 31-37 Mellen Street from Lesley University. The site will be developed into affordable housing designed for families.

Reading Interests: This group will explore the burgeoning genre of contemporary romance. Example selections include: Honey and Spice by Bolu Babalola and Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library Q&A Desk on the ground floor. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. How to get the e-book or digital audiobook: This month’s book is available as an e-book and digital audiobook through Libby and Hoopla. Join the Cambridge Public Health Department, the Community Safety Department, and the Cambridge Public Library for a panel discussion that aims to raise awareness and community knowledge about how to access national, state, and local resources. Attendees will hear from representatives with the Samaritans, the Community Safety Department (CARE team), and the Community Behavioral Health Center. Light refreshments and childcare will be provided. Registration is required.

The Domestic and Gender-Based Violence Prevention Initiative (DGBVPI) engages and mobilizes Cambridge’s communities, agencies, and City departments to change attitudes, behaviors, policies, and practices to prevent and bring attention to domestic and gender-based violence.
