CPD's Secret Santa for Seniors Gift Drive is Back for Its 19th Year. This program relies solely on generous donations from Cambridge businesses, residents, community members, and CPD employees. Gift bags are organized and distributed to seniors throughout the city on the days leading up to Christmas to remind them that they are not forgotten. The program is a great way to support Local Businesses and Seniors This Holiday Season. Gifts can be dropped off 24/7 at drop boxes in the first-floor main lobby of the Robert W. As part of the City of Cambridge’s Shade Is Social Justice program, temporary public art structures are being installed to provide shade and seating across the community to further the city’s efforts to address our warming world.

Expect road closures and traffic impacts on Saturday November 1 and Sunday, November 2, due to the Cambridge 5K and Half Marathon.

The Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) strongly recommends that residents get a flu vaccine this season. While a flu vaccine is always good preventative health care, it is especially important this year given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to the flu vaccine, CPHD will also be offering free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines and boosters at the clinics. We encourage people who are unvaccinated, especially young people (12 and older), to use this opportunity to get both the flu and COVID-19 vaccines.

The City of Cambridge announced that it is extending its rollback to a modified Phase II, Step 2 of the Commonwealth’s Reopening Massachusetts Plan for one week and will be returning to Phase III, Step 1 effective on Monday, February 8 at 12:00 a.m.
