As part of the ongoing redevelopment of the Volpe Parcel, now known as Kendall Common, and of Eversource's Greater Cambridge Energy Project, Broadway will undergo significant traffic and pedestrian changes to support the construction project and establishment of the new substation.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., we will host the sixth Working Group Meeting for the Broadway Safety Improvement Project. This meeting will specifically focus on the design plans for Section B of the project.

The Community Development Department's mission is to enhance the character and diversity of the city’s neighborhoods and support sustainable economic growth that expands opportunities for residents, enables a high quality of life within the community, and contributes to a healthy environment.

The next Community Meeting for MAPS will focus on the area South of Porter Square, and include opportunities for public participation around the issues facing this area.

The City of Cambridge Human Rights Commission partnered with the Cambridge Continuum of Care to develop Equal Access training for local shelters.

Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Snacks will be provided. For ages 7-10 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is Julieta and the Diamond Enigma by Luisana Duarte Armendáriz. When a diamond goes missing from the Louvre, it is up to nine-year-old Julieta to identify the thief, exonerate her father, and return home to Boston before her baby brother is born. Includes glossary of French and Spanish words and notes about the Regent Diamond, Athena, and works of art mentioned in the book. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. Registration is required — only one registration is needed per family. To check-out a copy of the book, stop by the Children’s Room after you've registered.
