Many individuals observe cats outdoors and may be uncertain if they are strays. No state or city laws mandate that owned cats must be kept inside.
Who We Are
The DGBVPI engages and mobilizes Cambridge’s communities, agencies, and City departments to change attitudes, behaviors, policies, and practices to prevent and bring attention to domestic and gender-based violence. Services include training, consultation, building collaborations across various sectors in Cambridge, and coordination of systems of change in order to ensure compassionate and supportive environments for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence across the city.

Cambridge Police Department Participates in Domestic Violence Awareness Month Vigil
CPD participated in the City of Cambridge’s candlelight vigil on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. outside City Hall. The annual vigil honors the Massachusetts women, men, and children who have tragically lost their lives to domestic violence since last October. Local domestic violence prevention agencies will have resources for survivors and information for the community on how to recognize and talk about domestic violence.
Watson Street Lot
The City of Cambridge established a pollinator garden at the vacant lot at the corner of Brookline and Watson Streets in anticipation of future open space improvements.
