Cambridge Youth Programs (CYP) is excited to introduce Community Friday Nights, a weekly program designed to bring neighbors of all ages together in a welcoming and positive environment. Join us every Friday for an evening filled with engaging activities, meaningful connections, and opportunities to build stronger relationships within the neighborhood and across the city.

Back by popular demand! Join the Friends of the Cambridge Public Library for their used book sale! They'll be selling gently used children’s and adult fiction and nonfiction books at low prices to benefit the Cambridge Public Library. The book sale will be held on June 7-8 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at 20 Holyoke Street. Funds from the sales will be used to support Library programs.

Celebrate the end of summer with neighbors old and new! We will have free food, games, crafts, bubbles and a clothing swap! All neighbors of any age are welcome. At 3:30 p.m. we will have a family-friendly concert with music by Music at the Blissful. This event will happen outside. In case of rain or bad weather there will be modified activities inside the O'Neill Branch.

Overall Cambridge Arts and the City are distributing more than $300,000 to 60 artists, cultural organizations and grant reviewers via grants and stipends this year through three funding opportunities offered by Cambridge Arts: Organizational Investment Grants, Art for Social Justice Grants, and Local Cultural Council Project Grants.

The Central Square Advisory Committee is appointed by the City Manager to undertake all large project reviews, receive all applications for variances and special permits for activities within the Central Square Overlay District, and monitor the progress of the Central Square non-zoning recommendations of the K2C2 Study.

Join us at the Valente library for some dinosaur fun! It's your turn to be a paleontologist: use a chisel and brush to excavate your own tiny dinosaur. We'll play dinosaur trivia and look at dinosaur books! All supplies provided by the library. Recommended for ages 5+. Dinosaur coloring pages will be provided for younger children. On Wednesday, October 8, 2025 CPD joined other community members on the lawn of City Hall for the annual Domestic Violence Vigil. The vigil is held each October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month to honor the Massachusetts women, men, and children who have tragically lost their lives during domestic violence incidents over the past year.

Harvard Book Store, the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji—fourth President of the International Criminal Court, Distinguished International Jurist at the Lincoln Alexander School of Law at the Toronto Metropolitan University, and a Special Advisor to the President of the University—for a discussion of his latest book End of Immunity: Holding World Leaders Accountable for Aggression, Genocide, War Crimes, and Crimes against Humanity. Registration is required.

Learn about the local tradition of turning maple sap into maple syrup with Land's Sake Farm! Enjoy a maple sugaring themed story time, touch and explore the tools we use to make maple syrup, and try using hand drills to tap a demonstration log. This program is recommended for children ages 4 and up. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required - please register only the children who will be attending the program.
