The City of Cambridge announced today that it is extending the current prohibition on City-sponsored community events, events permitted for the use of City parks, or other City-sponsored public gatherings through December 31, 2020.

City of Cambridge Service Closures for Thanksgiving Holiday

Funded equally by the City of Cambridge and CCF, the effort aims to shore up local food pantries preparing to meet increased demand in the coming weeks and provide greater food access to the City’s most vulnerable populations – particularly low-income eligible families with children and older adults.

The City of Cambridge offers residential curbside collection of Yard Waste from April 1 through December 31. Yard waste is banned from all landfills and incinerators in Massachusetts. This includes all leaves, grass, plants, shrub pruning and twigs. Place them on to the curb on your regular collection day by 7am or after 6pm the night before.

The City of Cambridge and BlocPower announced a new pilot partnership to help multifamily buildings upgrade with energy efficiency, rooftop solar, and more comfortable, all-electric heating, cooling, and hot water systems. The City of Cambridge announced a new Electric Vehicle Charging Pilot Program that will allow charging of electric vehicles (“EV”) across City sidewalks. The new charging pilot program provides residents without driveway access the opportunity to charge EVs across the public sidewalk by applying for a new Across Sidewalk Electric Vehicle Charging permit.

The City of Cambridge today announced that all City-sponsored community events, athletic events, events permitted for the use of City parks or other City-sponsored public gatherings will be cancelled through July 30, 2020. City Sponsored Youth Sports to resume July 12.
