In response to the COVID-19 public health crisis in the Commonwealth, the City of Cambridge and the Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) today declared that a state of emergency exists in the City of Cambridge related to COVID-19. The emergency declaration will facilitate and expedite the use of resources to protect persons from the impacts of COVID-19.

In partnership with Start By Talking, LLC (SBT) and Transition House, the City of Cambridge conducted a needs assessment to evaluate and clarify justice needs for survivors of color who have experienced domestic and gender-based violence.

The City of Cambridge Food Truck Program is designed to provide entrepreneurial opportunities for food truck operators, provide more diverse food options in targeted areas, and bring additional street level amenities to Cambridge public spaces.

The City of Cambridge today announced plans to conduct a Shared Street pilot that will allow residents to walk and bike in both directions on select roadways. Planned to begin as early as mid-June, the Shared Street pilot is designed to address increased movement in the city while supporting physical distancing as the City executes its reopening strategy.

Members of the community have until October 1, 2024 to submit ideas for projects to improve Cambridge and be part of next year’s budget.

The City of Cambridge Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to Cambridge residents who wish to pursue post-secondary education.
